This past week, I was blessed to have the opportunity to interview Dr. Joel Wells, who is a orthopedic surgeon that works at UT Southwestern Medical Center down in both Richardson and Dallas. His job description is very interesting, as I found out while coordinating my interview with him that he splits his time between his clinic and the OR. He is a man of many talents as well, as he previously had a storied career at Abilene Christian University, where he played baseball and started in all 4 years. Throughout my interview, I asked him a wide range of questions, many centering on both the aspects of sports medicine in our community and also his time management that he maintains both previously in his collegiate career as well as his current duty today. In fact, while we had an interview (through Zoom after the events of the deep freeze in Texas throughout this week) Dr. Wells had a telemedicine appointment following right after our interview. Dr. Wells main idea that he stressed was to always push forward and persevere to keep your focus to achieve your goals. I am planning on further examining my interview this week.
