Blog Number Six: Words from the Wise

After substantial consideration, I have decided to change my topic from Interventional Radiology to Sports Medicine, where I have found to be more passionate about while researching IR this past week. In addition, Sports Medicine still fulfills all of the goals that I set out for IR when I was first proposing the topic: it is constantly changing and it is to relieve pain and get people back and moving faster postoperatively. In addition, I was in the Business Symposium this past Tuesday, expanding from my interview with Evan Bradshaw with those such as Shaina Patel, who along with Evan graduated from Frisco in 2016. Unlike Evan however, she is currently working at an allergy clinic in a gap year before she attends medical school, speaking on how she is in support of those taking a gap year if they have a plan in place for said year. In addition, I talked with two others regarding my resume and conversational skills, being better able to present myself whenI eventually begin my research interviews in the near future. Ultimately, I will embark on the new road of sports medicine not as a step backward, but as a refresh to be able to move even faster forward.
