Blog Number Fourteen: The Glass is Half-Full

This week signifies the halfway point in my ISM journey, and also the end of the first semester for all of my classes. This last week was extremely eventful, with the completion of my Original Work Project for the class, bringing more knowledge both into me through specific research stemming from both curiosity and serving to the many aspects that I had to analyze when looking at the inner details of Tommy John surgery. I was able to interweave research from both recently and in papers I previously wrote in the past few months with personal opinion, truly helping me gain a perspective that I never knew I could even think about in the beginning of the year. In addition, writing a 17 page analysis helps give perspective to me when looking at other original works and scholarly articles in the sports medicine field. I am able to not only comprehend the information of the articles itself better, but I am also able to read beyond the lines to better interpret real-world application, an aspect of the rubric I am being graded under for my own work. Even if it was required, I stand entirely behind information always coming with application. Ultimately, I took the biggest strides in the tread of my journey, and I should be able to sprint come second semester.
